ADHD Medication: Findings from The Lancet
Here are the key findings from a 2016 article from The Lancet. The Lancet is a weekly peer-reviewed general medical journal and one of the oldest of its kind. It is also the world’s highest-impact academic journal. Note the fifth bullet point, which states that stimulants (including atomoxetine or Strattera) are among the most effective medications in the entire field of mental health. The sixth bullet is also interesting: Appropriate treatment of ADHD tends to reduce, not increase, substance abuse. For those interested, I recommend reading the full article here.
